Saengvith Science Hosts Bangkok Seminar
Saengvith Science Co., Ltd., 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’ exclusive Thailand distributor, hosted a seminar in early April titled “Determination of Mycotoxins in Feeds & Grain by Lateral Flow Technique.â€
The seminar was held at the prestigious ChaoPhya Park Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Approximately 40 people, from major Thai feed mills, feed traders and government laboratories attended.
91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ supported the seminar by sending their senior consultant for SE Asia, Mr. Dirk van Dam. Dirk presented an overview of 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’ products and detailed the Mycotoxin test platform for feeds and grain.
91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’ Mycotoxin test platform consists of ROSA (Rapid One Step Assay) Quantitative Lateral Flow tests and an integrated incubator / reader, the Charm EZ-M system. Currently there are tests available for Aflatoxins, DON/Vomitoxin, Zearalenone, Ochratoxin A, Fumonisin, and T2/HT2. Dirk highlighted Charm’s patented Water Extraction Technology (WET); a simple extraction procedure that utilizes water and eliminates the use of organic solvents.
Dirk also demonstrated that Charm’s easy to use, rapid, and relatively low cost ROSA lateral flow (LF) Mycotoxin tests show excellent correlation with time consuming and expensive reference methods like HPLC.
The second half of the seminar was used for demonstration of the EZ-M system and the ROSA LF Mycotoxin test. The attendants were able to run tests on various corn samples themselves. The hands-on experience was highly beneficial to the attendees, and overall, the seminar was considered a great success.
